When you stop and think about circs, you are doing an elective (perhaps an elective cosmetic) procedure on a male patient who can't give informed consent and whom you won't be following, usually without anesthesia.

I'm very happy that our peds do them. Did enough in residency to last forever.

As for Mogen clamps, neonate was transferred to my training hospital after distal third of penis amputated during Mogen clamp circ. Reattached by pediatric urologists. Wonder how it does/will work. Be careful with those Mogen clamps!

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
