I should say the "delivering doc" does the circ and I suspect therein lies the historical clue. I remember (vintage v dinosaur) when in training in the 70's many of the old GP's would just lay the neonate on the instrument table in the DR and do the circ right then and there while the DR nurse got mom ready to go back to her room. So it seems that at least historically around here that delivery and circ just went togeher. Cal

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
