GYN/INFERTILITY: CrinoneFrom: Kelly Shanahan, MD (mks@sierra.net)Mon Mar 30 13:49:31 1998
Oh wise REs of the list: I have an infertiltiy patient, day 15 s/p IUI (pergonal cycle) with appropriately rising HCG levels (77 day 13 s/p IUI and 155 today). She is using Crinone 8% (90 mg) HS since insemination -- progesterone level 2 days ago was 8.1. While I realize that Crinone provides good endometrial levels without high serum levels, I would like your experience with Crinone (this is the first patient I've had on it). She has had 2 SABs in the past, knows about progesterone levels and is worried, despite my explanation of how Crinone works. From the convenience standpoint, she likes it and money is not an issue. Have you used Crinone before? What's your experience with it? Do you think it's as effective as a) vaginal suppositories or b) IM injections? Muchos gracias in advance for your responses.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
