Do you have studies showing this to be effective? In the 80's, Nicolaides (I think) studied a large number of asymptomatic women and found that annual US was very good at picking up non malignant cysts of the ovaries without helping find carcinomas. If I remember correctly annual US lead to a 1 per 500 rate of Laparotomy for benign cysts. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
