persistent CMV infectionFrom: chudasama (charm@africaonline.co.ke)Sun Mar 29 12:03:59 1998
Hi ! A 26 year old with prior history of having delivered a microcephalic infant, was investigated and found to have an active CMV infection on her first visit to the clinic 2 years ago. Serial testing of patient shows persistent active infection, lab error has been ruled out by testing the sera at different centres. The patient wants to conceive and the question is whether to treat or not,and the length of interval between treatment completion and conception ? Thanks.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
