Staffing requirements

My facility is currently assessing the possibility of increasing delivery rate from 100/month to 200/month, in increments of 25/month. I am looking for information or a formula on how to figure the increase in nursing staff. I understand the standards of staff/patient ratio, but this does not tell me the number of nurses needed to staff the unit. All suggestions are welcome.

I am interested in finding research articles on the use of sterile gloves in OB. I manage an OB unit and have been asked to save money by using non-sterile gloves. I feel that I need stronge documentation to change practice on my unit. Thank you.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
