Novratis is the company formed by the merger of CIBA-GEIGY and SANDOZ. Apparently Novratis still manufactures I.V.Apresoline (Hydralazine) but the branch in Singapore does not want to bring it in any more - due to reasons of their own. This is another (deplorable)example how pharmaceutical industry tries to modify and control clinical practice !! Here we are frantically looking for a proper way of using a less well tried drug (labetalol) for a life threatening condition - just because of a management decision of a large drug farm with a monopoly !!!

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
