Right.. Same as the habitual abortion argument. Affected couples ask, "Why are they going to make me have a third consecutive miscarriage before ordering any tests?" The answer is that the yield from diagnostic evaluation is higher in that patient population. Two consecutive losses may occur only because of chance. Implimentation of these guidelines is thorny when there is a patient in front of you instead of a multiple choice question.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit.
