Excuse me? Cytogenetic studies are *not* indicated in the evaluation of vaginal bleeding in early pregnancy; however, formal genetic counseling - and if elected by the patient- fetal cytogenetic studies (by CVS or amniocentesis) are indicated on the basis of maternal age.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit.
