Under Texas Law, the 15 y/o or any age female is capable of giving consent for and obtaining any contraceptive with or without any parents consent. I would tell the Mother that this was an issue between her and her daughter. On the other hand since it was NOT for contraception, there might be a question about treatment without parental consent. Do you have the stepmothers consent to treat ??? Who does the girl live with ??? Dan -----Original Message----- From: Geffrey H. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
