Depends on your state laws. In California a teen can consent for any family planning or std treatment for themselves with or without parental knowledge. In this one it's a grey area because it isn't for contraception. It really is a family problem. You aren't in trouble because you gave oc's with a consenting parent present. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
