ob:pregnancy with diplopiaFrom: Dr. Amarnath Bhide/Rajendra Deshpande (amarnath@bom2.vsnl.net.in)Thu Mar 5 08:42:00 1998
27 yr old primigravida with 21 weeks pregnancy, presented with papular eruptions all over the body. Lesions are itchy and all over, not restricted to the exposed areas. Liver functions are normal. Dermatologist diagnosed it as `Pregnancy dermatitis'. local steroids were advised but not working. Eruptions on the lower limbs have given rise to bilateral swelling and now the legs have become painful. 1. Is this `Pregnancy dermatitis?' 2. How does one confirm/refute this diagnosis? 3. Is there any alternative effective treatment? 5. What are other possibilities? Thanks in advance. Dr. Amarnath Bhide Associate Proffesor, N. Wadia Maternity Hospital, Parel, Bombay, India.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
