An interesting question. In the eighties, in particular, more than a handful of women, most often those without good English skills, underwent court-ordered C-sections in the United States. Sad but true. Hopefully this client would deliver vaginally before someone called in the troops.

Ironically, I just threw away my clipping collection on the topic, but the Reproductive Rights Project of the American Civil Liberties Union was involved in some of these cases, and would certainly have more information on the topic, if desired.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
