I certainly tell all my patients that conization may lead to premature dilation of the cervix. OTOH I have looked after patients with (predominantly laser) cones who had stenosis of the cervix and had a hard time dilating even after the cervix was 100% effaced. On several occasions I have had to dilate them digitally (which then lead to rapid progression to full dilation and delivery).

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
