<< Thank you for this information. I find it interesting that women may play a role in perpetuating this obscene ritual. I wonder why. Why control the libido of your own gender and why do it by mutilating sexual organs? Are the women who perform these mutilations just acting at the behest of the men in their community? Does having a women perform the procedure make it any less horrible? I know from personal experience, that in some cultures, the mutilator is male.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit.
