I don't think that affects the mother at all, since it's the PLACENTA that's bleeding. In fact, if you bleed the placenta out, you might rationalize that it'll deliver quicker and be better for the mom. However, letting the kid bleed would scar me... Remember, Mother Nature lets the kid and placenta attached until the blood flow stops, right? So the baby isn't supposed to bleed.
