Fully concur with rec: for lapchole. Better to do it now before she really
gets sick. Why do an open G/B if a transfer to a more experienced facility
will probably allow minimally invasive surgery.
>> I agree wholeheartedly. I had a patient about six months ago who presented with repetitive symptoms in second trimester. By the time I had sent her to two different surgeons who turned out to be uncomfortable touching a pregnant patient, she was pushing 24 weeks. Dr. Waldby helped me find someone who had done several second trimester lap choles, but it was still a snug fit to do it through the scope at 24 weeks. Having it out made the rest of the pregnancy much more comfortable for patient and physician! Arthur Freeland Warrensburg Missouri

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
