I would definately recommend that you attempt a version for this woman. My experience is not nearly as bleak as many of the other posts I've seen on this topic.

No flames please-I once worked with a woman who was 5'9, 325 lbs G10P9. At 41 weeks her baby was breech, it had previously been cephalic. I arranged for my consultant to attempt an ECV in the hospital. She was palaced on an IV, given terbutaline, and he attempted the version. A scan showed it was unsuccessful the 1st time. He tried again, thought he was unsuccessful, but an immediate scan showed the baby was cephalic. Needless to say, it was difficult to tell on a woman this size. Of course her high parity made it much easier to turn this baby. I saw her immediately afterward and stripped her membranes. Six hours later I delivered her 12 pound 4 ounce baby at home after a two hour labor, with no problems.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
