CGD and TripletsFrom: Dr. Manuel R. García Martínez (marogama@intercable.net)Tue Feb 3 09:34:25 1998
We need suggestions for the next case She 32 yrs old nullipara, there a family history of Chronic granulomatous disease ( CGD), two sisters have had pregnancies And have lost the children ( Males), there is a chromosomic disease They are just able to have girls. She is positive with this disease ( lab Tests). Beside that she is a classic anovulatory patient ( POD). Finally after 4 yrs she got pregnant with clomid and right now she has triplets at the 8th week of pregnancy. We, Here down in México do not have the chance to make a blastomer diagnosis and / or DNA or Chromosomic test to determinate the sex of the embryos. She got pregnant with the traditional sex selection at the lab, that as far as we know the chances are 70 % to have females. One possibility is an amniocentesis, and wait 15 days for the results And offer a fetal reduction to the couple, but later on which is male and which one not. Any suggestions???. Thanks Manuel R. Garcia MD.
