Rarely,I have seen 2nd trimester patients with unexplained oligohydramnios who are producing too little amniotic fluid to see on fern or nitrazene paper tests. Some of these patients dont even notice the leak. These are some of the patients for whom I request ffn...to help diagnose early ruptured membranes when other tests are non-diagnostic. In the statement above, I intended to give examples of patients who might benefit from an ffn study. Sorry if it was confusing. Gary Gary E. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
