I believe Stadol costs about 10 times that of nubain (recently was looking in a wholesale drug catalog, also discovering that Demerol costs 3-4x that of morphine...).

We use both. I've started using Nubain only after finding out the cost difference as I've never noted any difference in function or neonatal depression.
