One possible response: let her have one good contraction. Then say, "Well, the baby didn't come out, so you failed your trial of labor. Let's get the section room prepped, please."

ACtually, I don't know that I would shortchange her TOL, but it's because I have no knowledge of the research (if any) on whether a greater number of previous secitons increases the risks of a TOL. What is known about this?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
