Re: Prematurity vs ChemotherapyFrom: Dr. A. Hensenne (cdtg@skynet.be)Tue Dec 30 16:59:40 1997
Cytoxan=cyclophosphamide= alkylating agent. Oncovin= vinka alkaloïd-blok cells in mitosis->tubulin. Adryamycin= anthracycline, intercalate with DNA & RNA synthesis ...mutagenic & carcinogenic... All this drugs are toxic, but together = big bomb for the mother & super bomb for the fetus. The fetus should be delivered before chemotherapy, but mature lungs by steroids before. Bien amicalement. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
