I've yet to come across a macerated stillbirth which exhibits good fetal movements! I have however come across a number of IUFDs with apparently normal CTGs and Doppler/Sonicaids !

If the fetus has no heart beat (and is dead) then then is there great benefit in this earlier recognition?

I'd hate to think of continuing a baseless rital simply to protect myself from embarrassment! Malcolm Griffiths MD,MRCOG,MFFP,Cert.Mgmnt Obstetrician & Gynaecologist Luton & Dunstable Hosp.,UK. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
