In a message dated 97-12-29 21:19:49 EST, you write:
<< I have the state wide stats on Florida and there is only one hospital with
a
c/section rate of almost 50%. It is Hialeah Hospital and they have been
investigated by Health and Rehab Services. The physicians reasons were that
they had wealthy South American women patients who insisted on c/section to
preserve their perineums for their husbands. (Will that make a latin man
stay
home??? - I don't think so).
>> My stats (at my other office) were from '94 There were two hospitals with >50% rates, both in Miami, and both with a large Latin patient population. Hialeah was the worst of the two......I think > 60% in '94. I will post them when I get them. I wonder what kind of surgery South American men submit to so THEY will remain exciting to their wives? ;) M Epstein L.M. Ft. Lauderdale/Miami

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
