An otherwise healthy 49 year-old on Premarin 1.25 mg. for 15 years since she had a TAH, BSO for severe PID. Wakes up a few weeks ago with a swollen left arm. Evaluation reveals a subclavian vein thrombosis. She is otherwise healthy. Internist takes her off of Premarin. I am seeing her now for the first time re the issue of HRT. She will be coming off of coumadin in a couple of weeks. She wants to take estrogen. What would you do?? Gerald P. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
