Re: Densitometry: When and When and How often??From: ATFSOCCER (ATFSOCCER@aol.com)Fri Dec 19 20:39:30 1997
In a message dated 97-12-19 16:35:22 EST, you write: << You and Dr. Folley seem to be advocating wholesale DEXA scans for all post and premenopausal women. Not aware of data to support this contention...please list sources. If not all women, then who are you suggesting? See alot of problems with this. Hillary will not be pleased. -- Michael >> Michael I am wondering if DEXA scans are or will be of benefit to some or all post menopausal women. Would a scan not help one to know how aggressive to be managing a patient with respect to using estrogen alone or in combination with 10mg fosamax?? Intuitively I am inclined to think that it would but I am looking for information in the literature to support an argument either way. Andy

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
