Ortho-cept and infertilityFrom: Becky Bishop-Costello (beckyb@mc.net)Tue Dec 2 11:34:31 1997
My Ob-gyn put me on ortho-cept the summer it came out, since then I have discovered that it not only causes blood clots but can also lead to ovarian cysts. I stopped taking Ortho-Cept last year in November, now almost a yaer later, I have not had a normal menstrual cycle since, they now range from 42 to 63 days. I have seen two seperate ob-gyn's who have both told me that I am no longer ovulating. I am devestated by this because I was perfectly normal before I took these pills. I am now looking for anyone else who may be having this problem -- if that is you, please either post a message here or e-mail me at beckyb@mc.net.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
