You said it, very naive outlook there, oh great listgod.

One can see the lawyer now, Steven Speilberg;esquire as he shows your video on a 10 foot screen to the jury. He calmly counts the minute(s) while you attempt to deliver the baby with shoulder dystocia, with a running count of how many millions of neurons are now dead at each ten second mark. Or maybe he puts that count on the corner of the video, like a game clock. The jury is understandibly horrified that you didn't call a section, heck, they SAW you not call a section, and awards the parents millions. Standard of care? All they see is graphic evidence of a bad outcome and a big insurance co. The lawyer thanks you after the courtroom empties..........after all, you did all the work for him.

Your hospital has a wise policy. I have never allowed video cameras in the delivery room until AFTER the delivery. And unless you want to make the American Bar's 'Funniest OB Video's' collection, you would be wise not to allow filming of deliveries either, no matter what the hospital policy. Video will provide a slam dunk case, my friend.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
