In a message dated 11/30/97 7:19:51 AM, you wrote: <<I saw a television report on why the cesarean rate in Brazil is 80%. Actually, it is due to maternal request. The report showed how the women who can afford private obstetrical care will only go to someone willing to perform cesarean delivery.>> I understood it was 1) the only way to get an epidural and 2) the only way to get a tubal ligation (after 2 c/s). The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
