Lots of money to be made here for raising these kids. > Could put reproductive endo malpractice premiums right up there with us > Obstetricians. This area has already been explored, most notably in California for "substandard" monitoring and failure to warn the patient about the risks of hyperstimulation, multiples, ectopics from IVF, etc. Unfortunately, in the US, we are under increasing competitive pressure to achieve better pregnancy rates than the program across the street, even if this means accepting an increase in the number of multiple pregnancies. We need to remember that this is a public forum, attorneys included, and that anything you write may be used to set you or one of your colleagues up. I personally know of at least two attorneys who read this list and other lists regularly, looking for ideas, comments by possible participants in litigation (if you write something here, it can be saved and re-presented to you later as your statement of the moment - I've been given a list of all my postings, sorted by topic and date), and for potential expert witnesses. I think it's time for Geoff's periodic disclaimer about the free expression of ideas on this list.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
