I usually do a Burch/paravaginal repair when doing an abdominal sacral colpopexy, because changing the vaginal axis with the colpopexy may lead to stress urinary incontinence. I also do a culdeplasty to prevent future enterocele. I have had excellent results with this surgery. My partner's father is also a "mature" ob/gyn and has done well over 400 of these without significant complications. Good luck with the case. Ashley D. Ashley Hill, M.D. dahmd@gate.net

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
