Re: Sacrocolpopexy Need Advice pleaseFrom: Gail Waldby MD (gwaldby@basec.net)Sat Nov 29 07:41:25 1997
I've used Gore-tex for these suspensions. I put it in with 0 Prolene. I'm interested to hear that Marlex can be used. Are there any problems that arise with Marlex that are different from the potential Gore-tex problems? At the ACS (American College of Surgeons) gynecology sections, the discussants recommended not anchoring the graft to the vaginal apex, since this is the weakest part of the vagina. They stated that it did not matter as much whether you anchored it anterior or posterior or both, just that the anchoring sutures be down a bit from the apex.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
