2 cases, need inputFrom: wagedj@ctrvax.Vanderbilt.EduMon Nov 24 19:38:09 1997
Input please with the following: P1, 350#s, chronic HTN, controlled with HCTZ pre-pregnancy (only dx'd 3 months prior to this pregnancy). D/C'd HCTZ with pregnancy. Pressures OK without meds (70-80's), now 17 weeks. i am anticipating pressures to rise at some point and will reinitiate meds. Tell me your preferences, and why: Aldomet? Clonidine? Other? Also, her SMAC returned with glucose of 137 pre-pregnancy when I did her HTN work-up. 1st baby 11#. Considering that data alone plus her weight I'm concerned about undiagnosed type II. What would you do?. Early 1 hour? Chemstrips? She is already seeing the RD and had an early ultrasound (I want GOOD dates!). 2. 33week, P0, To L and D last thurs with "leaking", nitrazine and fern negative. BPP next day, AFI 9.0 . I rechecked her today. Still no evidence, history or PE, for ROM, FH appropriate. So now what? Am I obligated to recheck her AFI? How often? What's your 'protocol' for this situation? Thanks, Deborah Wage FNP,CNM

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
