PP hge and MisoprostolFrom: Dr. Omar Farag (ofarag@brainy1.ie-eg.com)Sat Nov 22 03:39:57 1997
Is Misoprostol associated with increased incidence of a special type of post-partum hemorrhage? It is worth observing, as I lately encountered 3 cases, where the bleeding was characteristically not from uterine atony, and not from a clear cervical tear. It is rather "linear inner cracking" of the upper cervical area. In the three cases it was severe, and in two, it was life-threatening.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
