Re: FETOFETAL TRANSFUSION SYNDROMFrom: Malcolm Griffiths (Malcolm@mgriff22.demon.co.uk)Sat Nov 22 02:56:10 1997
In message <199711220904.DAA32317@talk.obgyn.net>, Dr O Gemer <gemer@lucynet.co.il> writes >I am looking for a medical center in the U.K to reffer such a patient >for laser ablative therapy or other fetoscopic therapy. Who should I >contact ? > To answer your question directly the answer is Prof Kypros Nicholaides at Harris Birthright Centre, King's College Hospital London. In more depth thosugh I would question whether laser ablative therapy is the most appropriate intervention. Serial amniodrainage and septostomy may be of equal or greater value and are less invasive and require less expertise. I am aware that Prof Rodeck's unit at University College Hospital, London, Prof Fisk at Queen Charlotte's, London and Tracey Johnstone at St Mary's Hospital, Manchester all offer one or more of these techniques. I think there is also an RCT being run form St George's Hospital, London. Malcolm Griffiths MD,MRCOG,MFFP,Cert.Mgmnt Obstetrician & Gynaecologist Luton & Dunstable Hosp.,UK. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
