In a message dated 97-11-16 01:57:00 EST, you write:

<< Practioners want access to patients without the gatekeeper >interfering and the only way to get this seems to become the gatekeeper.
>Only most don't really want to be the gatekeeper, the impression I get is
>that a better job description would be "traffic cop". The "traffic cop"
>could direct the obstetrics and gyecology ( especally the surgical ob-gyn)
>to the OB/GYN "PCP" and everything else could go to the other "PCP >>

Could I convince you all to change the subject on this thread? Perhaps something like "obstetrics as primary care" or "specialty gyn vs primary care gyn". I cringe every time I see the subject line come up, but the posts are always truly OB vs OB, not FP vs OB at all.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
