Doulas are to be considered as mother and family's support person. She is more prepared for the birth then many significant others which in our are are able to catch the baby. i do not understand what is up in your facility but there must be many uninformed individuals regarding the benefits of doula aervice in and out of the houspitl setting. I have been a labor nurse for many years and now own my own douola service which provides in home postpartum care ai have written many articles on the use of doula service which appear in International childbirth educsation journal. the last being the benefits off doula service with the high risk mothers . I would be happy to discuss any issue relating to doula service with you. they have met with opposition but if you haave been around long enoughyou will remember so did lamaze and father attended births!,

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
