Re: irregular bleedingFrom: ATFSOCCER@aol.comThu Nov 6 20:34:46 1997
In a message dated 97-11-04 06:17:01 EST, you write: << I have a simple yet common problem. How do people control irregular menstrual bleeding in a 47 year old lady.[fully investigated ]I find that HRT (continuos) does not seem to work very well in regulating the cycle. What if she smokes. >> I would consider the following options: 1. Depo-provera 150-300mg IM monthly until amenorrhea 2. Lupron 11.25 q 3months IM with add back low dose estrogen. 3. Endometrial ablation if either of the above two fail. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
