DuBose, M.S., why am i not surprised? here, though, the associations get interesting for a republican, Sen. Al from NY, is a sponsor of one of these bills. moreover, some of the hmo's in addition to the AARP ( one of the county's most powerful lobbies) are backing enforceable standards. i believe that the insurance companies will be confronted with reality. the biggest blow to managed care will be the herding of medicare folk into hmo's. the AARP is strong, vociferous, and the members have lots of free time. this battle should prove very interesting. in the end it's all about $$$ and votes, not necessarily in that order. stand by. art

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
