Re: What would you do?From: AGrunebaum@aol.comSat Nov 1 10:19:13 1997
In a message dated 97-11-01 08:59:35 EST, you write: << 25 YO woman. Living 500 m far from the clinic. First pregnancy uneventful since the day of delivery. At 38 weeks came in labor and an IUFD. Normal delivery of a 3100grs stillborn baby boy. Post pregnancy Check-up: No fetal malformations; areas of infarction (30%) in the placenta; biological signs of anti ph lip syndrome. Second pregnancy. Beginning 3 months after the first delivery. I prescribed as soon as the delivery was known 100 mg aspirin and LMW heparin. Uneventful till 32 weeks: a US showed a slight IUGR with limit Doppler index... and a breech presentation. I put on her rest at home with a weekly check up (clinical exam and FHR monitoring). Next US (34w) showed the same things with a regular growth (still 5th percentile). I decided to have a daily FHR. 37 weeks Everything is going well: 5th percentile, frank breech, cervix dilated at 1.5 cm. What shall I do? -- Bernard Cristalli MD CNGOF AIHP - ACCA Paris - France http://www.obgyn.net/corresp/cristalli.htm >> I think if she went to 37 weeks, she'll be OK for some time. See her in your office next week, if the FH is OK by Daptone, she should do well and you can await spontaneous labor. (Just kidding) DELIVER HER ASAP

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
