Re: Hystersonography catheterFrom: S.D.Sholkoff, MD (SDSHO@aol.com)Fri Oct 31 20:35:54 1997
Try the Sholkoff balloon HSG catheter or the new Sholkoff WAS catheter (with a 1 cm. protruding tip with end hole ..made by Cook Inc. No need for a tenaculum, although I use one once a year in difficult cases and in all fallopian tube recanalization attempts. There is a guiding sheath which can also be advanced into the cervix if required to exchange catheters e.g. for a cornual-seeking catheter. Cook is a large company, has many OBG products, and certainly has a rep in your area. The catheters allow a quick and almost painless procedure, but I do wonder where they got that odd name. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
