There are a number of variants of vWdz, but I believe the majority can be treated by DDAVP (desmopressin) taken via nasal inhaler right before, and during, menses. I have read about this, but have not yet tried it. I plan to, as it seems easier than GnRH agonist therapy, and from what I have read can be used long-term. My Medline access is acting up right now, but there are a number of articles in the internal medicine literature, and probably the ob/gyn literature as well, on this issue.

Good luck!

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
