Circ's and Appy'sFrom: Holmes, Harnath LT (chp1hch@chp10.med.navy.mil)Thu Oct 30 11:54:03 1997
Where I trained and where I am stationed now (Portsmouth, VA and Cherry Point, NC) the pediatricians and/or the FP's do the circs. On the appy thread, I generally leave them. I am curious though, what do you use to take them out? The few I have done I have used a stapler. I don't like this because I do most surgeries with 5mm intruments and ports (including camera). The endo-GIA's need a 12 port. Can these be done with endo-loops or even bipolar?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
