neonatal circumcision

I am interested in conducting an informal poll of CNM and MD colleagues (OB and FP) on neonatal circumcision. Which specialty does the procedure in your facility (OB, CNM,Peds, FP)? What method is the most frequently used? Do you use any form of anesthesia such as the dorsal penile block or EMLA ? Do any of you perform circumcision in the office or at the patient's home? What method of restraint is used to protect the infant during the procedure? I realize that circumcision is not a politicaly correct topic and that many parents choose not to have it done. Please don't flame me.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
