Re: "Chaparone" To have or not to have? From: Kaycnm@aol.comTue Oct 28 02:26:07 1997

I worked in a clinic in Houston for a few years where one of the nurses was insistant on being with me. I did enjoy that. As it is now, I have them in so rarely that I am clumsy and swipe them with the pap brush. My new office has made solo exams a challenge by not having a mayo table or any surface near me. I sit with the slide in my lap and have to walk away to put the slide down and pick up the gel. I have discussed, with the docs and other CNMs, the danger of getting into a "situation" alone in the room. I have never felt it to be a big problem. I am probably acting naively. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
