Re: Gestational DiabetesFrom: ATFSOCCER@aol.comSat Oct 11 05:28:23 1997
In a message dated 97-10-10 07:55:51 EDT, you write: << f a three-hour GTT has one abnormal value at 24 weeks gestation, what is the next step used by physicians on the list in her management??? Repeat at 32 weeks? Check a fasting and 2-hr postprandial for two weeks in a row? Start an ADA diet? Thank you. Steven Crawford, MD >> Usually we would do our 1 hr at 28 wks. If abnormal go to the 3 hr. If one value abnormal, repeat the 3hr at 32-34 weeks. As I recall this group has high percentage (30%??) of failed 3hr on repeat. Andrew Folley MD FACOG Toledo OH

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
