If I can't handle a straight forward application of forceps at O station, I would personally have difficulty calling myself an obstetrician. Now scanzoni maneuvers and midforcep rotations are a different story...but I'll still do those too if it goes easily. I had a partner awhile back who would under no circumstances apply an outlet forcep. Even the nurses made fun of her. That's no way to live. -- Douglas Krell MD
>> Doug and Dan I apologize. I was thinking that at 0 station we would be calling this a "high" forceps but in further review I see that being "engaged" it would still be a "mid". I will take some grey poupon with my crow please! Andy Folley MD FACOG Toledo OH

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
