-- Is there the contrary? OK do what you want. Don't section her if it's an invasive. And if she has a recurrence afterwards you'll explain her (and her lawyers) that it was not written in the books. Cancerous cells don't read, don't they? ;-) Anyway the C/S was not done on this purpose but just to shorten the delay before treatment. Does suit you like that? -- Bernard Cristalli MD CNGO >>

Please excuse my ignorance of the oncology/pregnancy literature but I have always been under the impression that vaginal birth was contraindicated in pregnant ladies with invasive cervical cancer as the birth would disrupt the lymphatics and vasculature etc. and increase her chances for metastatic spread? The section should be to prevent that not to shorten the delay before treatment. Otherwise just induce her, the section would be inappropriate for the reasons you have mentioned, Bernard.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
