Quality of contractions is extremely important. Not necessarily in VBAC ruptures but certainly in making a diagnosis of non progression of labor. If you are not using IUPCs then how do you know if the patient is having adequate strength of contractions. I dont believe the external tocos are reliable in terms of providing quantitative evaluation of contraction strength.
